Milton Abbey and the village of Milton Abbas provide the festival with a unique and beautiful range of venues, all within a five minute drive.
Milton Abbey
Woodland and landscaped grounds create a stunning backdrop for the Abbey and inside of the church, with its warm acoustic and impressive architecture, provides the ideal ambience for the main concerts and services.
St Catherine’s Chapel
This 12th century building is used for 3 events this year. On Saturday morning, Excelsior will sing at a candlelit service of Holy Communion. On Sunday night, after the Abbey concert, the path to the chapel will once again be lit with lanterns for the Candlelit Meditation. Finally, on Monday morning there will be a service of Holy Communion sung by the Chamber Choir.
St James Church, Milton Abbas
In the heart of the village, this church will host Saturday’s Young Artist Recital and a 19th century Choral Evensong sung by Excelsior following the service of Evening Prayer from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer.
